A Church Alive is worth the drive
I am excited about what God is doing and about to do in your life and the life of the church at large. Across the North and the Western regions of Charters Towers, I sense that God’s set time to favour this area of Australia and its people has come. A hunger for God, His presence, His holiness and His power will draw people again to the household and life of faith.
The fledgling church described in the book of Acts, was a spirit filled church, a word- based church, signs and wonders followed the believers and prayer and boldness was the order of the day. They prayed daily, they fellowshipped daily, they searched the scriptures daily and the Lord added to their number daily.
Pressure and persecution did not cause the church to buckle, but on the contrary caused the believers to draw on the unseen resources of God and caused the apostle Paul to declare, “I know in whom I have believed. 2 Tim 1:12
Faith and a believing heart will see the promises of God materialise despite our situations and circumstances. To reign as kings in the realm of life (Rm 5:17) fulfils the Genesis 1:28 command, to be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion….

Revelation Of God To Man
Abraham who was to become “The Father of the Faith” was stuck in his tent naval gazing, when God brought him out of the confines of his tent and the confines of his mind and said, “Look now toward heaven… count the stars… so shall your descendants be.”
One study reveals that the observable universe contains two trillion galaxies, the issue is not the number of stars but the number of galaxies. God made, counts and knows the stars by name. It was not information, but a revelation of God that Abraham needed and perhaps you and I do too!!!

More Eager To Answer Than We Are To Ask.
You know it’s the right thing to do to pray to God. And yet we often hold back. Are my petitions worthy of God’s time? Am I good enough and am I worthy enough? Have I attained a level of holiness to earn an audience with God?
But know this, that the God who holds the planet and stars in precise order and orbit, who says to the waves “this far and no further” is the same God who holds the dust particle in a ray of sunlight. Not a sparrow falls to the ground that He is not aware of. Jesus said to ask, to seek, and to knock. The apostle of faith Smith Wigglesworth’s comment is very apt: “For God is more eager to answer than we are to ask.”

God Will Build You A House
The shepherd boy that became Israel’s greatest king is the account of King David’s life and reign. It was the standard by which all future kings would be measured. David had a home built with the best materials of stone and cedar wood. He had wives, concubines, sons and daughters, all enemies subdued and paying tribute, the Ark is brought into Jerusalem and the kingdom is established. King David ushers in “The Glory Days Of Israel.”
It is at this time that David expresses his desire to build the Lord a House, a tabernacle for Him to dwell. The prophet reveals to David that it is not him who would build the Lord a house, but “because he had it in his heart to build the Lord a house, God would build him a house.” That promise holds true for us today, that if we would build God a house, then He would build ours.

“Let Your Waist Be Girded and Your Lamps Burning.”
In militant terms Jesus describes the ever preparedness and readiness of the battle hardened Christian. “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning.” Having put on “The whole armour of God” and finishing with the waist belt of truth, there is never a further instruction to remove this heavenly armour which is also described as being “Mighty in God.”
We need to wear this armour night and day, when we walk, when we work and even when we sleep. The spirit realm does not sleep, and nor should our spiritual preparedness. Through the constant reason of use, our spiritual weapons and armour are kept operationally ready for action.

Not Just What You Pray; But What You Say.
As believers in Christ, there are areas in our lives where victory eludes us. When our righteousness, our effective and fervent faith filled prayer and good Christian living are not in question. As believers we have to recognise that there are consequences to “What We Say” after we have prayed the prayer of faith spoken of by the apostle James.
Our own words in our day to day lives have the ability to annihilate the power and effectiveness of our faith filled prayers, or exponentially add to the power released in believing prayer. I encourage you today to speak life. Your next breakthrough depends on it.

For I know Whom I Have Believed
The apostle Paul, when writing to encourage Timothy in ministry and in life, did not use wishy washy, lifeless and limp language. But rather directed the young man with punchy, powerful and direct discourse without ambiguity.
Paul's own faith was uncompromising and with great conviction, as he had encountered the risen Christ. The solid resolve in all his missionary endeavours and correspondence to the early church can be encompassed even in these few words to Timothy, “For I know whom I Have Believed.”

They’re A Weird Mob
Australians were described in an endearing way by an Italian immigrant in a book in 1957 as ”They’re A Weird Mob.” God in His word too has some phrases to describe His people, one of which is peculiar and another special.
In the eyes of the world we, believers in Christ are seen as different, and rightly so. The moment you and I became born from above, a believer in Jesus, His presence differentiated us from all the peoples of the earth. God chose us and sets us apart to be a people for Himself. Consequently, we can never be like the world to win the world.!!!

Counsellor, Comforter, Keeper
When reading Psalm 23, we can almost see David the shepherd boy who was to become Israel’s greatest king, being himself shepherded by God. He was able to boldly declare “I shall not want”, and that He (That’s God) makes me to lie down in green pasture, He restores my soul, and He leads me in the path of righteousness.
All these and more, we too can expect when we first declare that “The Lord Is My Shepherd.” As the Lord Shepherds us, He is a great comfort to us as the anxious and weary soul cries out to the Great Shepherd. God’s word as well as the Holy Spirit who is given to those who believe, are a constant present help in times of need.

Ever Ready And Ever Prepared
Today, more than any period in history, multitudes are without God and therefore without hope in this world. The apostle Peter charges the believer 1 Peter 3:15 Always be prepared to give an answer… to give the reason for the hope that you have.
As believers in Christ we have a living hope within, that the world desperately needs. Being prepared and expectant to share that hope at all times in a state of readiness in life and in our ministry calling. Paul said and even commanded Timothy “Be ready in season and out of season” and “To be watchful in all things.” Are you ever ready and prepared today?

Stop, Cease And Desist:
A man in a uniform raises a white gloved hand and instantly the tide of traffic, the cars, trucks and semi-trailers come to a halt. His very little comparative physical power and strength is not needed as he has something far greater, that being imbued with authority. How much more so the children of God who understand their authority given by Christ.
Authority, delegated power has been given and made available to the born again believer in Christ, the nano second one becomes a new creation. How much differently do we pray from a position now of authority and privilege, seated with Christ at the right hand of the Father.
