A Church Alive is worth the drive
I am excited about what God is doing and about to do in your life and the life of the church at large. Across the North and the Western regions of Charters Towers, I sense that God’s set time to favour this area of Australia and its people has come. A hunger for God, His presence, His holiness and His power will draw people again to the household and life of faith.
The fledgling church described in the book of Acts, was a spirit filled church, a word- based church, signs and wonders followed the believers and prayer and boldness was the order of the day. They prayed daily, they fellowshipped daily, they searched the scriptures daily and the Lord added to their number daily.
Pressure and persecution did not cause the church to buckle, but on the contrary caused the believers to draw on the unseen resources of God and caused the apostle Paul to declare, “I know in whom I have believed. 2 Tim 1:12
Faith and a believing heart will see the promises of God materialise despite our situations and circumstances. To reign as kings in the realm of life (Rm 5:17) fulfils the Genesis 1:28 command, to be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion….

The Light Shines Brighter When We Gather
Acts chapter 2 is one of the most powerful and exciting chapters in all of scripture. The Holy Spirit filled the house, then filled the 120 people who were all with one accord in one place to receive power from on high. They were not disappointed. The nations of the earth were never to be the same again!
The lifestyle of the early believers was marked by continuing daily with one accord. They met daily, they cared daily, won souls daily, searched the scriptures daily, and the Lord added to them daily, the souls that were being saved. This unity in fellowship cannot be ignored when looking to the reasons the Holy Spirit was so abundantly present in their lives and the ministry.

But You Said:
Jacob was returning home after twenty years in self-imposed exile. His own volatile brother Esau, who had previously wanted to kill him, was coming to meet him with four hundred men. Would Esau accept Jacobs gifts to appease his anger, or would this be the end of Jacob?
Jacob begins to pray “But You said,” and reminds God of the promises He had previously made to him. Do you need a breakthrough, healing, provision or protection today? You too can pray God’s word with great confidence, as He is a God who cannot lie, and His promises are true.

Clothed With Power From On High
Jesus said “Behold I (That’s Jesus) send the Promise (That’s the Holy Spirit) of the Father (That completes the Trinity) upon you.” Wait until you are clothed with power from on high. All three members of the Godhead are in agreement that we be endued with divine power.
Could you use some divine power today?
Living the Christian life without this power is below the intent and heart of God. It is in fact below our royal calling. How do we obtain this power?
This power is not a resource but a person. Wait on God until you receive power, is the answer for your life and the church today.

The Heavenly Man
You and I are made of the seventeen basic elements as the dust of the earth. As Adam the man of dust brought humanity into sin and the penalty and consequences of it, Jesus the Heavenly man brought humanity righteousness and redemption.
Through Christ all walls of separation, religious elitism and separation are removed, making way for all to come to repentance and salvation. The nations and its peoples all now have access to the cross and its redeeming power through the blood. We rejoice as we are now new creations in Christ Jesus who bear the image of the Heavenly Man.

Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen
The invitations to the wedding banquet of the ages have gone out. The people not only made excuses for not coming, but reviled and treated with hostility, even unto death, those who offered the invitation. The invite is now extended to the highways as many as could be found both bad and good, until the wedding hall is filled.
All the peoples of the nations of the earth are invited to the most majestic wedding banquet from time immemorial. Jesus said “Many are called but few are chosen.” A careful look at this parable through the lens of the gospel, reveals that The Chosen or the elect of God are The Called who respond RSVP “I am coming.“ Will you respond today? For the invitation is to all.

You Let My Daddy Hold The Rope
The dualism in the bible is recorded throughout. To mention just a few, light and darkness, good and evil, two trees in the garden, two seeds, two kingdoms, two kings and two fathers.
When as children we followed and trusted our earthly fathers who they themselves were vessels of clay. We have also a heavenly Father and our faith and trust in Him can never be misplaced. Psalm 118:8 the centre of the bible wraps it up so well. “It is better to place your trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

Gaining The World But Losing Your Soul:
Who and what is the real you? We have a body, but we are more than physical. We have a mind, but we are more than an intellect. The Bible says that God is Spirit and that you and I are made in His image. Therefore, we too are a spiritual being, we have a mind and operate out of a body.
What value do we place on our soul if we would not trade any price for our physical bodies or part thereof? Jesus said what would a man give in exchange for his soul? And what will it profit a man if he gained the whole world and lose his own soul? What value then do you place on Jesus and His blood which He shed to purchase your life?

Jesus Is In Your Boat:
In the midst of a raging storm, violent winds and waves crashing into the boat; Jesus, after a long day is asleep on a pillow at the stern of the boat. “Do You not care that we are perishing” was their cry. His rebuke “why are you so fearful, where is your faith?”
Storms in life will come to us all. Faiths presence causes us to enter into God’s rest in the midst of those storms. With delegated authority, we too declare “Peace Be Still.” We will not go under, for Jesus not only said “We are going to the other side,” but Jesus is in your boat.
