A Church Alive is worth the drive
I am excited about what God is doing and about to do in your life and the life of the church at large. Across the North and the Western regions of Charters Towers, I sense that God’s set time to favour this area of Australia and its people has come. A hunger for God, His presence, His holiness and His power will draw people again to the household and life of faith.
The fledgling church described in the book of Acts, was a spirit filled church, a word- based church, signs and wonders followed the believers and prayer and boldness was the order of the day. They prayed daily, they fellowshipped daily, they searched the scriptures daily and the Lord added to their number daily.
Pressure and persecution did not cause the church to buckle, but on the contrary caused the believers to draw on the unseen resources of God and caused the apostle Paul to declare, “I know in whom I have believed. 2 Tim 1:12
Faith and a believing heart will see the promises of God materialise despite our situations and circumstances. To reign as kings in the realm of life (Rm 5:17) fulfils the Genesis 1:28 command, to be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion….

Putting all your eggs in one basket is someone who puts all their effort and resources into one thing. The world will advise that we diversify and cover many bases and spread the risk. Hedging your bets is the gambler who places the each way bet.
When it comes to eternal life, many have shipwrecked their eternal destiny by placing their faith in a multiplicity of beliefs. The un-politically correct book “The Bible” says that there is One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism and One God and Father. Back a winner today and place all your faith in God today!!! Now that’s assurance that brings peace to your heart and eternal life to come.

The Secret Place
In the middle of the “Sermon on the Mount", Jesus said to the multitudes to go into their room, shut the door and pray to the Father in the Secret Place. Also central to the Christian life, is our relationship with God through prayer.
Praying through doubt, unbelief and fear, until the breakthrough and assurance comes, will require us to shut out the world, and to be shut in with God. Entering this Secret Place of God’s presence, avails us to His power, provision and purpose. Where is your secret place with God?

Crucified With Christ.
In the latter times, the bible speaks of a period of lawlessness and a great falling away from the faith. We are observing increase in opposition to the church as demonic influences flex their muscle. The Lord has in times past, and will always have, a faithful remnant through whom His power and purpose will be wielded. These days are not dissimilar to those of the early church and the ministry of Paul.
Compelled by the love of Christ, the gospel had claimed Paul's allegiance. The remnant, you and I, will also fully understand that we are not our own and that we too have been bought with a price. We too have been crucified with Christ and that it is not I who live, but Christ that lives in me. The gates of hell will not prevail against a totally surrendered and yielded vessel. This is our finest hour.

Tithing
I am excited to bring you today what God’s word has to say about tithes, offerings and Christian stewardship. When understanding and revelation comes on how God wants us to handle His money, His resources and His increase to your life, many people will be released into His provision.
God owns the cattle on a thousand hills, but many believers still live as vegetarians, because we have not known how to tap into the supernatural provision of God, through the obedience of tithing and giving to God.

Believe
Do you yearn for the days when everything seemed so much simpler? We now have the bigger home, car, mortgage and bells and whistles. These have been added year by year to our lives; only to realise that in most aspects of our lives, less is best.
This same principal applies also to our christian walk with God. Come back to our first love and only believe. The apostle John in his gospel never uses the word faith, but only the verb “believe”, 98 times. Coming to God as a little child in every life circumstance can be the most refreshing thing. Take Jesus at His word when He said, “Only Believe.”

Born Again. What’s next?
Thousands of people throughout Australia every week respond to the altar call for salvation. They repent of their sin, ask for forgiveness, invite Jesus into their heart and lives, and ask the Holy Spirit to fill their very being. When that heart felt prayer is prayed, a person becomes born again, born from above, born of God or born of the Spirit. What next?
This is where the journey of rebirth begins.
Having now the ability to hear the voice of another realm, another kingdom and another king, we progress in God. Becoming a disciple, we, through obedience, get not only water baptised, but also seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Reading our bibles, praying, attending a bible believing church and tithing to God. In addition to all these life and spirit building endeavours we seek also the 100% pure privilege of leading others to put their trust and faith in Jesus. These are all fundamentals that never change throughout our walk with God.

The Love Of Christ Compels Us
What moves, drives, inspires, motivates, masters or rules us? Does fear, fame or fortune? Or the bibles list of the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh or the pride of life? All of these can be the relentless driving influences and compulsions that urge people on.
The apostle Paul, enduring a list of horrendous hardships while fulfilling his life's calling, never succumbed to the “woe is me” mindset. His cry was “woe is me if I do not preach the gospel”. Paul urges us today and reveals his heavenly motivation when he writes, “For the love of Christ compels us and He has claimed our allegiance.”

Jump in the Jordan and do it 7 times!
So many of us are believing and expecting great things from God. Naaman the Syrian army commander, a leper, came to Elisha the prophet for healing. The man of prestige, power and position, came also with silver and gold.
None of these impressed Elisha who sent his servant to the proud military commander and said, “Go jump in the Jordon and do it seven times.” Naaman although initially enraged, learnt that God’s kingdom, healing, deliverance and salvation, are accessed through obedience.

Prevailing, persistent and persevering prayer is neither a technique, nor a formula, but is an attitude of hanging on to God, until the blessing and breakthrough comes.
