A Church Alive is worth the drive
I am excited about what God is doing and about to do in your life and the life of the church at large. Across the North and the Western regions of Charters Towers, I sense that God’s set time to favour this area of Australia and its people has come. A hunger for God, His presence, His holiness and His power will draw people again to the household and life of faith.
The fledgling church described in the book of Acts, was a spirit filled church, a word- based church, signs and wonders followed the believers and prayer and boldness was the order of the day. They prayed daily, they fellowshipped daily, they searched the scriptures daily and the Lord added to their number daily.
Pressure and persecution did not cause the church to buckle, but on the contrary caused the believers to draw on the unseen resources of God and caused the apostle Paul to declare, “I know in whom I have believed. 2 Tim 1:12
Faith and a believing heart will see the promises of God materialise despite our situations and circumstances. To reign as kings in the realm of life (Rm 5:17) fulfils the Genesis 1:28 command, to be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion….

Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus.
Separating this fallen world from God and His glory is this blight upon humanity called sin. Man’s predisposition and default mode is one of sin, and all self-efforts are futile in our efforts to overcome sin and its consequences. We can kick, fight, butt and even bite against sin, but all these are but human effort and will inevitably fail.
There is however one agent and one way that deals eternally with the guilt, shame and penalty of sin, and establishes an eternal relationship with a loving and Holy God. God’s provision for you and I and all of humanity, is to give sin a fatal blow through the Blood of Jesus Christ.

He Will Carry You
If, when you and I were enemies of the cross and haters of all that was God and good, that God did not withhold His best and gave His Son Jesus for us; how much more so, will He now give us all things to those who are children of God.
Christ bore and carried the cross as well as our sin, sickness and disease, and you can trust Him today to carry you through whatever you may face in life. Jesus was acquainted with grief and sorrow and identifies with us at these times. Place the burdens of life on His shoulders today, for we were never designed to carry them.
In the words of the song by Scott Wesley Brown, if He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders, I know my brother, my sister, He will carry you.

The Favour Of The Lord
The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 103 To Bless the Lord and to forget not all His benefits. God is the one who forgives, heals, redeems, crowns your life and satisfies your mouth with good things. God’s ability to remember His promises can only be matched by our propensity to forget God and His benefits towards us.
His promise to the children of Israel, that they would not only possess the land, but also live in cities and homes they did not build, drink from wells they did not dig, and partake of vineyards and olive trees they did not plant. In a word they were to live as you and I are to live in the favour of man and God.

Throughout the bible are people who exemplified an astounding belief in God. Through them, God was able to do amazing and mighty deeds that defied their situation, and any adversity, and against the odds, came through victorious.
Living a life of great faith is a learned behaviour. Elijah was described as a man with a nature like ours. What God has done for one He will do for another, for God is no respecter of persons. There are principals of faith, that when applied to your life, will produce results that will be spectacular!!!

Keeping The Faith Ignited
A knife needs to be constantly sharpened and resharpened so that it doesn’t lose its edge. A dull knife requires more effort, and injuries are more frequent as a result. In the same way surveying instrumentation periodically needs to be adjusted and readjusted to maintain accuracy in its function. They say it needs recalibration.
Likewise, our faith too can become dull. As a fine instrument gets knocked around, affected by dust and weather, we too, can in life get knocked around and our faith needs a recalibration. Jesus restored Peters faith after he had gone back fishing and renewed the original call to “Follow Me.”

The parable of the sower tells us that the seed is the word of God. The success of the word which is described in scripture as incorruptible does not depend on the seed which is perfect, faultless and pure; but totally on the soil in which it is planted.
Hearing with a noble and good heart and holding on to that word will ensure the blessing for which it was intended. As believers in Christ we are of noble birth and with an honest heart receive the implanted word which will bear fruit.

Miracles In Mathew
Mathew Chapter 9 is an action packed ministry few days for Jesus. There is nothing that quite builds your faith like reading the gospel.
Jesus said it was just as easy to forgive as it was to be healed. Jesus believes in package deals and economy of effort. The reason is simple. The same faith required to be forgiven and saved is the same faith to be delivered and healed.
It doesn’t say that Jesus saw the crippled legs or the anguish or the result of people being separated from God because of sin, but it does say that Jesus saw their faith.
Need alone did not move Jesus to heal, it was their faith.
