A Church Alive is worth the drive
I am excited about what God is doing and about to do in your life and the life of the church at large. Across the North and the Western regions of Charters Towers, I sense that God’s set time to favour this area of Australia and its people has come. A hunger for God, His presence, His holiness and His power will draw people again to the household and life of faith.
The fledgling church described in the book of Acts, was a spirit filled church, a word- based church, signs and wonders followed the believers and prayer and boldness was the order of the day. They prayed daily, they fellowshipped daily, they searched the scriptures daily and the Lord added to their number daily.
Pressure and persecution did not cause the church to buckle, but on the contrary caused the believers to draw on the unseen resources of God and caused the apostle Paul to declare, “I know in whom I have believed. 2 Tim 1:12
Faith and a believing heart will see the promises of God materialise despite our situations and circumstances. To reign as kings in the realm of life (Rm 5:17) fulfils the Genesis 1:28 command, to be fruitful and multiply: fill the earth, subdue it and have dominion….

Earthly Things Have Left Me Dry:
Israel’s ancient history and right through to this present day, can be written around the subject of water or Mayim in the Hebrew language. The river, the lake, the sea and the numerous wells provide the backdrop for a lot of its historical and biblical settings.
Jesus met a Samaritan woman at the well at mid – day. If ever there were words that could captivate the sentiment or the inner longing of this despised woman, it would be that “Earthly things have left me dry.” Jesus transformed this woman’s life with these powerful yet simple words; “whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst.” Do you thirst today? Then you too can drink and draw life from the wells of Salvation.

“My Grace Is Sufficient For You.”
Today we are in for a real treat, as we see and understand, how a persons’ weaknesses and often inabilities, are in fact an opportunity for God’s power to be manifested and revealed.
The apostle Paul’s thorn in the flesh along with his whippings, being beaten with rods, ship wrecked, many perils and numerous sufferings, added a dimension to his faith through grace. God’s enabling power and ability came upon his weakness, as the strength of God was revealed. God, through His grace towards us, turns those thorns of life into a crown of glory.

O Holy Night: Christmas 2024
A weary world was pining, groaning and waiting in anticipation, poised for the moment when the promised Messiah, the deliverer of all deliverers would come. The worlds need and the cry of every heart, called for a saviour, as it felt the burden and weight of its own sin.
A bright and new star appeared in the eastern sky, God’s billboard to humanity. When the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son. The progressive revelation of God to man, born in the flesh, the ultimate divine and heavenly intervention in the earth. God’s Son has a name. His name is Jesus!!!

Draw Near To God And He Will Draw Near To You
The book of James, although containing only 108 verses, has 54 clear commands. The promises associated with these commands are out of this world. Draw near to God and He (That’s God) will draw near to you.
The conditions attached contain all our favourite words. Submit, resist, cleanse, purify, lament, mourn and humble yourself, and He will (That’s God again) lift you up. Be encouraged by the no bull approach that James applies to the fair dinkum Christian life to be doers of the word.

Defying The Royal Edict
Are we to be ruled by Pharaoh’s, Kings, Czars, Presidents and Prime ministers and their Governing Authorities, or is man in fact to be ruled by God? How do the two co-exist when there is a clear separation of values and morals? What is the course of action to the believer in Christ when two worlds, two values and two moral codes collide?
Is there still conviction of conscience, the Spirits leading, or the fear of God in the life of the believer and the church today? Appeasement and capitulation have robbed the tongue of the righteous, when the power of God is most frequently demonstrated, when the righteous are as bold as a lion.

“I Am He”
On the night of Jesus' betrayal, a detachment of Roman soldiers carrying lanterns, torches and brandishing swords and clubs along with the chief priest officers descended into the garden of Gethsemane. When flight or fight are the two common responses in life and death situations, how would Jesus and His disciples respond?
Jesus went forward against insurmountable odds and still having command over the situation said, “Whom are you seeking?” Having come to apprehend Jesus the Nazarene they fell to the ground when Jesus The Son Of God said “I AM He.”

Rewards In Heaven
With the main focus of the evangelical message to see the multitudes of the earth come to Christ, we often fail to see that in heaven, there are rewards for how we have lived here on earth.
As there are degrees of punishment in hell, so too there are the rewards of the righteous. For that which is done in secret, will be rewarded openly, and rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven: said Jesus. These rewards are meant to motivate and encourage believers to live faithfully and serve God diligently.

The Great Adventure
At 75 years of age, Abraham and his 65-year-old wife Sarah, were in for a sea change. The command to get out of your country, from your father’s house and family, saddle up your camels, buy a tent, you’ve got a trail to blaze.
The Christian life was never to be boring, but rather a great adventure. Many have just enough faith in God to make them utterly miserable. It takes courage, energy, innovation, learning and doing something new to see the kingdom of God established. Abraham was commanded to begin a start- up nation and he became that trailblazer for God. Will you and I join him and step into the hall of faith?

Repent And Sin No More.
Breaking the 400 silent years between the Testaments a voice in the wilderness; John the Baptist picked up where all the prophets had left off. “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Jesus first message said the same as well as Peters powerful message on the day of Pentecost.
Repentance is a gift from God, leading to Godly sorrow and eternal life. Salvation like a three legged stool has three essential elements, repent, believe and receive. This turning away from sin and the world is the fruit of a decision to walk with God. True repentance; True salvation.
